Ashiday’s Artist Techniques:
What are some of your favorite drawing/painting tools (pens, pencils, markers, brushes all of the above) and by which companies? Which sizes do you prefer? i.e. #2 brush or pencil and why?
Currently I use Brushes (BUMPODO) and cotton pieces, because it is willowy and softly but I am always searching for new and better materials.
How do you like your color? Watercolor? Acrylics? Oil? Colored pencils? Markers? Pastels? What are the names of your favorite Companies for these products and why?
Acrylics (TURNER) and Pastels (NOUVEL), because I believe the color is beyond orthodox.
They are suitable for expression of brightness.
What other mediums do you use to create your art and by which company?
Presently company I use that is handling EB-ART is very small.
When I execute EB-ART, I always give out my work to this company, because the medium for EB-ART is such a very special acrylic resin “3421” that I cannot get a the kiln for the UV ray process as it is too expensive to purchase for an individual artist.
The most difficult problem is this technique it is unfit to make a large-sized work, because the permissible range of the kiln is within A4-size.
So I stand at the crossroads to either give-up this technique or get a superior company that can improve it and supply it at low cost.
If you do use paints, inks, pencils, or markers for coloring, are there any in particular that are your favorites? Do you prefer travel sets of paints to a full set?
I will begin to use and experiment with Acrylics from Liquitex and Pastels from Rowney.
I prefer to use a full set.
If you paint, is there any particular type of canvas/watercolor paper that you prefer? Do you like to paint on wood or any other materials? What is the name of the product company you Use and why?
EPSON’s Velvet Fine Art Paper
Is there any particular brand of sketchbook, notebook or drawing pad that you prefer and by which company?
Drawing pad (DALER-ROWNEY)
If you create Purely digital art, what are the software programs you use? Is one used more than another?
Corel Paint Shop
Any suggestions what supplies to start off with if you are not quite sure if art is for you?
